The ¹³C-labeled fatty acids octanoic-1-¹³C acid and palmitic-1-¹³C acid were synthetically prepared from Ba ¹³CO₃. The yield of the former was more than 90% and that of the latter was above 85%. MS, IR, ¹H-NMR and ¹³NMR were performed to analyze the structures of the two ¹³C-fatty acids, compared with their unlabeled fatty acids.
