SSRF diagnostics system will adopt a new generation digital electron beam position processor, Libera, as the signal condition, signal processing and data acquisition device for beam position monitor. In order to provide a uniform data and control interface for users, we developed an EPICS interface based on Control System Programming Interface (CSPI) layer, allowing the performance of the electron beam to be monitored through EPICS channels. In this interface a new record type for BPM was defined and its associated support routines were implemented.

In this paper, gaseous products generated by radiation degradation of N,N-diethylhydroxylamine (DEHA) in aqueous solution are studied. The results show that by 10~1000 kGy irradiation of the solution in DEHA concentration of 0.1~0.5 mol·L-1, the gaseous products were mainly hydrogen, methane, ethane and ethene. The volume fraction of hydrogen did not change much with different concentrations of DEHA. The volume fraction of methane and ethane decreased, but that of ethene increased, with increasing DEHA concentration. The volume fraction of hydrogen, methane and ethane increased with the dose. The relationship of the volume fraction of ethene with the dose had something to do with the DEHA concentration.

Selected-area deposition (SAD) of diamond films was achieved on silicon substrates with carbon film mask by hot filament chemical vapor deposition. Needle tip scraped lines were used to grow diamond films. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) investigation demonstrates that highly selective and sharp edged diamond films were produced. The results also demonstrate that the proper substrate temperature is very important for diamond selective growth in this deposition process. Since the enhancement of diamond growth was not observed on the needle tip scraped area of Si wafer with diamond powder scratching, the selective growth was considered to be closely correlated to silicon carbide formed during carbon film deposition and the residual carbon in the scraped area.

Adsorption of 134Cs from aqueous solution by zinc ferrocyanide, and the effect of experimental conditions on the adsorption were investigated. Preliminary results showed that zinc ferrocyanide was very efficient as an absorbent. Over 98% of 134Cs could be removed by zinc ferrocyanide of 0.33 g·L-1 from 134Cs solution (Co) of 3.2~160.0 kBq·L-1, with adsorption capacities (Q) of 9.6~463.0 kBq·g -1. The adsorption equilibrium time was within one hour and the suitable pH ranged 1~10. No significant differences on 134Cs adsorption were observed at 0~50℃, or in solutions containing Ca2+, Fe3+, Mg2+, HCO3-, CO32-, Cl- and SO42-, even though they are 1000 times higher than the anions or cations in groundwater. However, the adsorption rates decreased when solutions contained K+ or Na+. The adsorption process could be described by Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption equations.

An investigation was conducted using 45Ca as a radioactive tracer to evaluate calcium antagonistic effects of several extracts from Bambusa Rigida in living rats. The relationship between the flavonoid and saccharide contents of Bambusa Rigida and calcium antagonistic effects were also analyzed. The protective effects of the alkali extracts of Bambusa Rigida on myocardial ischemia were investigated in living rats. The results indicated that the alkali extracts of Bambusa Rigida had a prominent influence on Ca2+ influx and efflux in the isolated rat aorta and heart, as they could obviously block 45Ca entering into cells and stimulate efflux of intracellular Ca2+. Moreover, the alkali extracts of Bambusa Rigida had favorable protective effects on myocardial ischemia induced either by isoproterenol injection (ISO) or by the ligation of coronary artery. These results implied that the Bambusa Rigida had attractive potential for the treatment of heart, cerebrovascular and other diseases. However, the conclusion that whether the flavonoid or saccharide in Bambusa Rigida affected the calcium antagonistic effects and Ca2+ channels or not was hard to make within the results of the investigation.

In this paper, 99mTc-TRODAT-1 Micro-SPECT (single-photon emission computed tomography) was used for imaging dopamine transporter (DAT) in retinas and to investigate the changes of DAT in retinas of guinea pigs with form deprivation myopia. Pigmented guinea pigs aged 3 weeks were devided into form deprivation myopia (FDM) group (n=6) and normal control group (n=6). The test group wore translucent goggles randomly for 4 weeks, and both groups underwent biometric measurement (refraction and axial length) before and after the experiment. Micro-SPECT retinas imaging was performed at the 4th week after injection of 99mTc-TRODAT-1. The retinas were clearly resolved in the images. The ratio of 99mTc-TRODAT-1 uptake in the myopic retinas (11.55±2.80) was 3.64±1.40 lower than that in the control eye (15.20±1.98), and 2.35±1.05 lower than that in the fellow eyes (13.90±2.04). The results showed that 99mTc-TRODAT-1 Micro-SPECT eye imaging can be used to trace the distribution and changes of DAT in retina, and DAT in the myopic retinas were lower than that in the normal control eyes and fellow eyes. Micro-SPECT may provide a new approach for further studies on the role of dopamine system in the experimental myopia.

The optimum moderator geometry increases the performance of prompt gamma neutron activation analysis (PGNAA) method considerably. In this work an 241Am-Be source was used in the moderator geometry for detecting buried landmines by PGNAA method. Experiments were done to find the best moderator geometry for the moderated 241Am-Be source, by replacing the mine with a neutron detector and counting the thermal neutron flux. The flux of thermal neutrons at the place of mine was used as a determining factor to introduce the best moderator geometry.

The disposal of spent nuclear fuel is a long-standing issue in nuclear technology. Mainly, UO2 and metallic U are used as a fuel in nuclear reactors. Spent nuclear fuel contains fission products and transuranium elements, which would remain radioactive for 104 to 108 years. In this brief communication, essential concepts and engineering elements related to high-level nuclear waste disposal are described. Conceptual design models are described and discussed considering the long-time scale activity of spent nuclear fuel or high level waste. Notions of physical and chemical barriers to contain nuclear waste are highlightened. Concerns regarding integrity, self-irradiation induced decomposition and thermal effects of decay heat on the spent nuclear fuel are also discussed. The question of retrievability of spent nuclear fuel after disposal is considered.

Numerical study on turbulent mixed convection in inclined plane channels, from 15˚ to 90˚ (vertical), was carried out to examine the effect of inclination on fluid flow and heat transfer distributions. The turbulent air flows upward or downward into the duct with one wall heated from bottom. Calculation results with several kinds of k-ε type turbulence models were used to compare the experimental data with those in literatures to determine suitable model. The dependents of Nusselt number on the inclination angle of both the buoyancy-aided and buoyancy-opposed flow are discussed.
