The scintiphotos and ultrasonophotos of 186 patients with focal and diffuse diseases of liver were collected and analysed. All the data were get from the in-patients of China-Japan Friendship Hospital. The Sigma 438 typed γ camera (USA) was used. Fifteen min after 99mTc-phytate were injected i.v., If any defect region was found, it was recorded as a SOL; the SSA 90A, SAL 77A and SAL 50A US scanners (Japan) were used, if any abnormal echo pattern was found, it was a SOL. Of 134 patients have done both examinations during 7 days, 122 patients had coincident results occupied 91.0%. For detection of SOL, the sensitivity of scintigraphy is 94.1%, specificity is 94.2%, accuracy is 94.8%; the sensitivity of US is 100%, specificity is 89.7%, the accuracy is 95.6%. The hepatic blood flow and blood pool study showed that 104 from 115 patients were coincident (90.4%). The spleen and liver accumulation ratio determination showed that 51 from 64 subjects were coincident (80.0%). The characteristic features of scintigraphy and US graphy were described in hepatoma, hemangioma, cyst abscess and cirrhosis. The advantages of these examinations were discussed and concluded that their procedures are valuable and widely available.

Effect of irradiation treatment (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 kGy) on fresh pea cultivars was investigated. Results indicated that significant decrease in colour (% transmittance) and ascorbic acid occurred due to storage period. Higher irradiation treatments showed a significant difference in colour retention in both the cultivars. Visual observation indicated no sprouting until 6th days after which sprouting started in both the cultivars irrespective of radiation treatments. At higher irradiation dose (4.00 kGy) sprouts died soon after emergence. Peas irradiated at 2.0-4.0 kGy doses showed rottage after 9-12 days of storage in both the varieties. Higher irradiation doses enhanced the rate of rot compared with lower doses. p-8 was more resistant to rottage than Moon cultivar of pea.

The multielement analysis and investigation on ginseng and soil samples have been conducted by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) with a nation approved standard matter for the quality control in measurements. The absorptivity of trace elements are different for various parts of ginseng. Concentrated elements and their degrees of concentration are also different. Ca and Sr are concentrated in the main root and their degrees of concentrations increased with growing ages. The absorptivities of element are higher in rhizome and fibrous root than in main root. In addition, the dried weight of ginseng's root increases exponentially with growing ages.

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films (a-C:H) were implanted by 140 keV and 110 keV Ar ion beams. The resistivities of the implanted films decreased dramatically under a dose of 2×1016 Ar/cm2. IR spectra and optical gap Eopt were measured. It was found that the sp2 and sp3 components decreased due to the loss of hydrogen during implantation, and the ratio of components sp2 bonds to sp3 bonds increased with the ion dose. And the optical gap Eopt decreased from 1.46 eV to 0.83 eV. The hydrogen (bonded and unbonded) contents in the films were measured with the nuclear resonant reaction 1H(19F, χ γ)16O. It is shown that hydrogen plays an important role in affecting some properties of DLC fims.

By using the magnetic field map, equilibrium orbit, operating point of vr and vz and beam trajectories after stripper for Cyclone 10/5 have been calculated. The positions of two strippers and two targets have been determined. The numerical simulation is consistent with experimental tests.

Measurements of the Doppler broadening S-lineshape parameter of positron annihilation and brittleness have been performed for two Co-based amorphous alloy prior to crystallization. It is shown that the brittleness is related to the S-parameter, that is, microdefects may be one of the important factors affecting the embrittlement of the Co-based amorphous alloys.

Na211 At and 211At-Te colloid injections are prepared. It has been demonstrated that the 211At-Te colloid is stable in vivo and vitro, and can be applied in the study of biology and medicine. In the report, the model of Murine Ehrlich Ascites Cells cultured in vivo and vitro is elected for a series of experiments. It has been proved that Na211 At and 211At-Te colloid injections possess an inhibition effect on tumor cells. The inhibition effect was expressed in surviving of the mice and inhibiting growth of tumor as well as the changes of enzyme activity. Meanwhile, it was also noticed that Na211 At and 211At-Te colloid injections of various dose inhibited the absorb of pyrimidine nucleosides in Murine Ehrlich Ascites Cells. And the effect isn't reversible. It is closely related to the dose administratered and 50% inhibition rate needs about 1.48×105 Bq/ml culture.

Magnetic anisotropies and hyperfine fields of amorphous a-Fe-(Co, Cr)-Zr alloys, their temperature and thermal stress effects were studied by using a Mössbauer spectroscopy. The results are in the following: A tensile stress field is easily created during the material production process, having the plane anisotropy to be increased for the alloys containing strong ferromagnetic coupling such as Fe-Co and Fe-Ni; a pressure stress field is easily produced, making the perpendicular anisotropy increase for the alloys containing antiferromagnetic coupling such as Fe-Cr and Fe-Mn. Introducing the new idea of attractive and repulsive forces, the fact was explained well that the dependence of anisotropies on the average outer electron concentration of 3d transition metal is similar to that of the average hyperfine field.

Cataracts were observed in the eye lenses of a group of Wistar rats that had been injected with Na2SeO3. The trace elemental analysis of their lenses was carried out by PIXE. The results showed that the variations of elemental contents were different between the injected rats and the controls. The elemental concentrations, which exhibited a certain regularity in their variations, could be related to the time of formation of cataract and to its state.

Twenty four male autopsies were obtained from Shanghai. The samples of liver, lung, kidney cortex, brain and scalp hair were collected from the autopsies. The elements As, Br, Ca, Cd, Cl, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mg, Mn, Na, Rb, S, Se and Zn were determined by neutron activation analysis (NAA). The present study provides the elemental levels of different tissues for normal male adults. The distribution pattern of elements was discussed. Great difference on distribution of some elements in different tissues was observed.
